where we focus
We work to transform systems where we see the most promise.
We focus where collaboration is essential for change but often obstructed or underresourced.
Advancing Women-Led Solutions
When women lead, everyone benefits. Evidence shows that environmental, social, and economic outcomes improve when women are resourced and represented in leadership. That’s why Aurora develops initiatives that convene, resource, and activate women leaders, advancing transformative solutions that benefit people, place, and planet.
Recent work includes:
Building networks of women leaders in sectors that are women-powered but not women-led like health, fashion and travel, so that impact strategy is informed by, supports, and funds women’s essential perspectives.
Supporting convenings of women philanthropists to inspire leadership and activate collective impact—directing resources toward greater equality and improved outcomes for women and girls.
Investing in community-led impact
Lasting systems change happens at the local level. Aurora builds place-based networks led by community leaders, local institutions, and land stewards—people who are deeply rooted in their regions and best-positioned to create change. By supporting and connecting this local leadership, we facilitate solutions that are practical, collaborative and built to last.
Recent work includes:
Supporting convenings to build partnerships across NYC-based leaders on regional climate resilience activities.
Supporting pilots in California to activate and model a regenerative economy in practice, with a first focus on attainable housing.
what we do
We believe collaboration is the way forward – but it requires leadership and skill to traverse the complexities of coming together. Aurora’s approach is built on a deep understanding of the mechanics and magic of collaboration.
